In-Home Care – Transportation Assistance

Eldercare caregivers/companions are available to provide assistance with transportation. They can drive clients to and from doctors’ appointments, shopping, and other outings. Nothing compares to the sense of losing one's sense of independence more than losing of one’s ability to drive.

Eldercare's Transportation Assistance is not a taxi service.  Eldercare's Transportation Assistance is very personalized assistance with transportation needs. The caregiver assists the client in and out of the home if necessary and remains with the client the entire time.  The companion may make multiple stops at the doctor's office, pharmacy, grocery store, etc. The caregiver drives the client's vehicle; there are not mileage charges. Eldercare charges are based on the arrival and departure of the companion which are determined by the call-in and call-out from the clients home.

Counting on friends and family becomes difficult and burdensome. When an Eldercare client has been advised not to drive, they are relieved to know that Eldercare Systems is available to drive them in their own safe and well-maintained car. Once enrolled in Eldercare a client may call anytime for transportation. The charge is $76 per trip and it is assumed that the trip will take 4 hours. If it is less than a 4 hour trip, the additional time can be used for shopping or any other home care service. Time in excess of the 4 hours will be computed at $19.00/hour.
