The Eldercare Difference
The Eldercare Systems Difference
Eldercare Systems offers an enhanced perspective on homecare services. Having over 20 years of senior care experience, Eldercare Systems sees care giving from a very personal perspective. While Eldercare has always hired caregivers, given advice and staffed assignments, their policies, training and more importantly their ideology have changed. This new direction has elevated the provision of care and concern for Eldercare clients and that of their families to a new level. As a family-owned and operated business, Eldercare cherishes the value of family.
Whether it is a voice on the phone or the gentle touch of a caregiver, Eldercare recognizes that everyone in the family needs support and care during what can often be a difficult and stressful time physically, mentally, and emotionally for all of those involved. While most agencies and even state regulations prescribe only the care of the patient, the Eldercare Systems difference is that we help care for the family, building a deeper level of dignity, filling the increasing needs, and vastly improving the quality of life for those served.
When an aging couple needs help, Eldercare understands how difficult this situation can be. Often a “healthy spouse” is reluctant to give up being the primary caregiver. Often this person’s own health concerns are ignored in their attempt to take good care of their spouse. Eldercare not only sends a CNA to help care for the needs of the client, but their caregivers also provide caring support to the spouse who has given of themselves for all of the hours their caregivers have not been in place. This support for the couple can include everything from meal preparation and homemaking services for two to companionship. Allowing the family caregivers the ability to reconnect with friends, social groups, or their physician is an important way in which Eldercare is there to assist in the mental, emotional, and social needs of the couple or whole family.

The ability to provide experience, support, or even just a listening ear is stressed in the training provided to Eldercare caregivers. Every new hire orientation is presented by Ellie Schmittinger, their founder, because she wants to stress the importance of Eldercare’s family perspective, especially as she experienced it in her own home from 2004 through 2010. Their caregivers are trained with this level of care and sensitivity as the priority for everything they do.
Eldercare caregivers must understand the real difference in how a client, their spouse, and other family members feel when they share a laugh, a conversation, or a board game. This special attention to the family environment offers peace of mind and reassurance that the best possible care is in place for their loved ones.
