For an older person the tasks involved in dressing and grooming may become arduous. An Eldercare Caregiver is not only there to button a button, which can be impossible for someone with neuropathy, arthritis, paralysis, etc. An Eldercare Caregiver will assist with all skin care needs, manicure and pedicures, shaving, and going out to the hairdresser or barber. They will work with the client to pick out the outfit and accessories for the day, as well as the pajamas for bed. They will also, be sure that the clothes that are adorned have been cleaned, which can be a concern for those clients who tend to want to wear the same outfit day after day. Proper dressing and grooming will assist the senior in feeling good about themselves and ready for a day of activity and structure, and may encourage them to be more social.
